However, what drew me to this model wasn’t just its larger size, but its intuitive opening mechanism and overall ease of use.

The aluminum handle option I selected has a good feel, while the ceramic bearings make for a smooth, frictionless opening. This design is especially appreciated as I've gotten older and with less flexible hands, and found traditional assisted-opening knives a bit more challenging to open.
At 2.7oz and with a well-balanced grip, the Ridge Folder feels solid yet lightweight, making it ideal for a lot of my tasks ranging from opening packages to outdoor use. The carry belt clip is a nice touch, although I prefer one that can be switched since I’m left-handed. But it does keep the knife secure and discreet when clipped to my pocket. Additionally, the low-friction pivot point makes opening the blade effortless—simply pull back the lock and let the blade roll out smoothly. It’s very easy to use with stiff fingers.
