Safety Guidelines

Child and Vulnerable Person Safety Warning: The Ridge Mini Folder is not intended for use by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities. This product is intended for adults 18 years of age or older. Keep out of reach of children and vulnerable persons. The Ridge Mini Folder poses a significant risk of cuts, lacerations, and serious injury if handled by children or persons who cannot safely manage or operate the product. Adult supervision is required when the product is present near children or vulnerable persons.

Intended Use & Prohibited Uses: The Ridge Mini Folder is intended only for cutting, slicing, and light fieldwork such as cutting cord, food prep, and light outdoor tasks. It is not designed for heavy-duty or industrial use and must not be used as a pry bar, hammer, or throwing implement. Do not use the Ridge Mini Folder for batoning, which involves striking the spine of the blade with another object to split or chop material.

Product Inspection Before Use: Inspect the Ridge Mini Folder before each use for signs of damage, wear, or deformation. Look for blade play, loose screws, damage to the slipjoint mechanism, or any sharp edges on the handle. A damaged product may have reduced structural integrity that could cause injury during use. Do not use the Ridge Mini Folder if damage is found. Contact Ridge Support for assistance.

Blade Handling & Cutting Safety: Always confirm the blade is fully open and seated before cutting. Cut away from your body and keep your free hand clear of the blade's path. Never attempt to catch a falling Ridge Mini Folder. Use appropriate cutting surfaces and avoid using the blade on materials it is not designed for, such as hardened metal, bone, or wire. Never force the blade through tough or resistant materials; if the material requires excessive pressure, it is not suitable for this tool.

Damage & Misuse: Do not use the Ridge Mini Folder if the blade, slipjoint mechanism, or handle is visibly damaged, cracked, or compromised. Misuse, dropping, or applying excessive lateral force may result in malfunction, blade failure, or injury. If in doubt, stop use and contact Ridge Support.

Temperature Sensitivity: Metal conducts heat and cold. The Ridge Mini Folder left in direct sunlight, a hot vehicle, or other high-heat or extreme-cold environments may become uncomfortable or unsafe to handle. Allow the Ridge Mini Folder to return to a comfortable temperature before use or extended contact with skin.

Disassembly & Modifications: Do not disassemble or modify the Ridge Mini Folder, as doing so may void the warranty and increase the risk of injury. If repair is needed, contact Ridge Support.

Storage & Environmental Exposure: Store the Ridge Mini Folder folded in a sheath, case, or secure compartment. When carrying the Ridge Mini Folder, use the lanyard attachment or a protective case. Do not carry it loosely in a pocket, bag, or pack. Keep away from extreme heat, moisture, and corrosive substances. Do not expose the blade to open flame. Prolonged exposure to moisture without proper drying and lubrication may cause corrosion and reduce blade performance.

Water & Moisture Exposure: The Ridge Mini Folder performs reliably in wet conditions but use extra caution when the handle is wet, as moisture can reduce grip and increase the risk of slipping during use. Prolonged exposure to water or humidity without proper drying and lubrication may cause corrosion over time. Dry thoroughly after any moisture exposure and lubricate pivot points before storing.

Legal Compliance: Knife laws vary significantly by state, city, and jurisdiction. It is your sole responsibility to understand and comply with all applicable federal, state, local, and international laws regarding the possession, carry, transport, and use of the Ridge Mini Folder. By purchasing or using the Ridge Mini Folder, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Ridge Wallet LLC for all claims resulting directly or indirectly from the purchase, possession, ownership, transportation, or use of this product in violation of applicable laws or regulations. Ridge disclaims all liability for unlawful use of the Ridge Mini Folder.
